Biography of David Van Os
Texas Born and Texas Proud

Born in Kilgore, David Van Os has lived all his life in Texas. After receiving his education from the University of Texas at Austin, David became a fighting advocate in the pursuit of justice and for the rights of all workerÕs in the labor movement, ideals he has stayed faithful to his whole career.

David has stood tall in the courtroom defending worker's, human, and civil rights. He has taken on giant corporations and government entities who have tried to trample average, good-hearted and hard-working Texans. David is not afraid to step up to the plate because he truly believes in the rights of all people. For example, David has fought in Washington to re-organize unions and battled to help put unions back in business after being raided by the government labor feds. In his 29 years of service, he has represented industrial, telecommunications, and construction workers; teachers; retail employees; firefighters; state employees; and veterans, to name a few.

David Van Os is equally at home in the grand courtrooms and right at home in every union hall he enters to serve and protect his Union Brothers and Sisters. David actually first met his wife Rachel on a picket line in San Antonio-- in the early 90's when SA Light was organized by CWA--and have walked many picket lines together. In one of his first jobs as an attorney, David worked for Dave Richards and Sam Houston Clinton, two stalwarts in the labor movement. Today, David proudly leads in representing his friends of labor and owes a great debt of gratitude to Richards and Clinton for helping him learn to take on every challenge from any and all offenders of justice.

David has strong grassroot Democratic family values and an upbringing and belief that the Democratic Party was, and still is, the party of the People. David and Rachel reside in San Antonio and have four wonderful children whom they love dearly. They have one son named BJ and three daughters, Kay Cee, Maya Angela and Leya Gabrielle. David's parents Francene and Seymour Van Os are proud yellow-dog Democrats living in Tyler. David's father is 83 years old and is still an active Precinct Chair in Smith County.

David Van Os will fight for you and protect and serve all people no matter your race, religion, political choice or preference of life choices you make or choose, because David truly is a real fighter for the people and promises to serve and protect all citizens of this great state. Please join us in this battle for justice.
